Half Moon With a Twist

Orange half moon with black polka dots?! YES please! I am a big fan of this mani, can't wait to test out some other color combos!

It's basically the same process as a half moon mani with the extra step of using a dotting tool and black polish while the nude was still wet to make the dots. Remember, you need to take off the reinforcement before the polish dries so you get the clean lines. It's best to work on one nail at a time!

I tried to take these in different lighting conditions to try and capture the true color in the pic.

1st Race of the Year Just Days Away...

So a few months back, I won the LOTTERY!!! Yeah, not THE lottery...the lottery to get into the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. It's a big race in the DC area and every year people cross their fingers and hope they're lucky enough to get selected. This was my first year signing up and I won! :) This is the first race I feel absolutely ready for.  Strength training and running has really helped my time improve. I can't wait! Hopefully, this congestion/cold that decided to pop up on Monday disappears before Sunday. I hope there's some blossoms left to "ohhh" and "ahhh" at! The weather has been unusually warm, causing the trees to bloom a lot earlier this year. It's going to be such a gorgeous run around the Nation's Capital! Weeeeeee!

Playing Catch-Up

Well, it's been a minute or two since my last post! I've been busy with birthdays, St. Paddy's, bachelorette partys, and everything in between. I've painted my nails, I just haven't posted any of them.  So here in one long post we're going to play catch-up!

First up: St. Paddy's mani
I decided to make every nail different and it turned out nice...except for the bow on the pinky...that one was a little "special" haha

Sally Hansen - Mint Sorbet

Next Up: Party Nails
I wanted something bright and fun for the bachelorette party.  I did a basic reinforcement mani and hand painted leopard on my ring fingers.  It was a success!

Sephora - Alley Cat, Sally Hansen - Shrimply Devine, and China Glaze - For Audrey

We also celebrated Josh's 31st birthday at Cantler's!  Crabs and beer was his only request and we happily obliged.  It was delish and makes me super excited for summer crab feasts and BBQs! Happy Birthday Josh!  Love the hat Cantler's gave him...I ended up putting the crab mallet and the Natty Boh in the claws of the crab to make it a little more unique!  He was a good sport! HAHA!

Lastly, this past weekend, my good friend Jenn had her Bachelorette party.  We winery hopped the first half of the day, then went to a drag show and out in DC by night!  It was a blast...I was so touched to be included on a special weekend.  Her friends are all sweet and know how to make it a party! :)

The following pic was taken at one of the wineries...the tree path was over 100 years old! Love this!

On my way home from Arlington, I stopped by my old neighborhood in Shirlington. During the brief time I was there I had a little routine during the weekends of hitting my fave shops.  Since I was only a 10 min drive away, I made a detour and picked up a few favorites. There was also a new cheese shop that was put in that I had to see.  Good thing that shop wasn't there before...that place is dangerous!

Some of the goodies I picked up...
And my ultimate fave...44th cupcakes by CakeLove. Vanilla cupcake, vanilla buttercream frosting, caramel drizzle, and topped with a sprinkle of sea salt. HEAVEN.IN.A.CUPCAKE!!!

Updated Coral

I knew I couldn't sit on plain nails for long...I just had to put some sort of designs on them so they weren't so blah.  Gold glitter/sparkle polish is a nice go-to!

The Perfect Coral

I have found the PERFECT Coral color.  It's not too pink, not too orange.  The color was too perfect to put designs on top!  Thank you Essie!  Now...if you could just make your brushes a tad wider...

I tried getting pics that were as true to life as possible.  These were the best I could do!

New Kicks

One of 3 new running shoes I got over the weekend. I can't wait to take these puppies for a spin. (Unfortunately, I've had a very nasty cold so I took a couple days to rest.) These are my first pair of mid-weight shoes and I'm excited to see the difference. I ordered a pair of neon green laces to swap out with the black. The neon definitely drops seconds off your time. It was a must-have.

Still waiting for my lightweight shoes to arrive...those puppies are a whole 2 oz. lighter than my normal running shoe...I'm going to fly in those babies!

Full Tribal Nails

Yes, I'm insane.  ALL 10 nails covered in different handpainted tribal print.  It took a ton of patience, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.  It probably would have been easier to cut down on the number of colors I used, but I wanted it to be fun and bright.  Do you like?
